Summer 2006 with the Ludlow Garden Club

The Ludlow Garden club has had a busy and productive summer - but unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to take many pictures to document that productivity. But hopefully, you've all been driving around town to see the wonderful bridge boxes, the annual plantings at the point of Memorial Park, the gazebo planters, and the town hall boxes. Barbara Whittaker and her Beautification Committee have kept them blooming in grand style.

The June Luncheon was at the Wilder House at the Calvin Coolidge State Park. After a tasty luncheon, we enjoyed a stroll around the gardens; and then went to Midge Tucker's gardens - Plymouth Rock Perennial Gardens. What a lovely spot - by the Black River - and wonderful perennials. Enjoyed by all, along with some purchases for our own gardens.

In July, we finally got to Cider Hill Gardens in Windsor - after 2 rain cancellations. This, too, was a charming place, and wll worth the visit. Found many new plants for our Ludlow gardens; and also enjoyed the paintings in the Gallery.

August was the Herb Luncheon at Patsy's - and finally have some pictures to post. As you will see, the food was abundant and delicious. Wonderful weather and great companionship. Many thanks to Patsy for opening her house to the Club.

Rained out again in September, but hope to get to see Patti Hunt's ornamental grasses next year. In October, we are planning to do fall arrangements at the United Church.

Here's a few pictures from the Herb Luncheon.
