Beautifying Main Street!

On a dark and rainy (drizzly) day, the Beautification Committee of the Garden Club was hard at work on Main St. of Ludlow; putting up fall decorations to beautify the town for the "leaf peeper" season. Corn stalks and bows were placed on all the light poles from the Library to Benson's. The project was coordinated by (General) Marie Hasson, and the workers for the day were Barbara Gulli, Maria Hermann, Susan Kneebone, Dianne Krupp, Kay O'Hare, Janet Pace, Chris Salerno, and Barbara Whittaker. The corn stalks were hand-cut from a farmer's field in Chester, and transported to Ludlow in Dianne and Barb G's trucks. The wonderful bows were made and donated by Marion of Marion's Florist.
It was a fun day for us all - and we'd love to hear comments on our efforts. Some more pixes follow:

September Garden Club Trip

On September 8th, the Garden Club will be meeting for a trip to Cider Hill Gardens in Windsor. This is the trip that was cancelled last Sept. due to rain - so let's hope for better weather. Their signature is "Where the gardens are art, and the art if of the gardens". We'll have a Sarah Milek tour; their web site is: www.ciderhillvt.com for those interested in more info.
For those wishing to carpool, we will meet at Shaws's at 11:45 am. Bring a chair and lunch; and hostesses will provide dessert and drinks.

Patsy and her husband Kevin have beautiful flower, vegetable and herb gardens; and volunteer Club members will be making luncheon dishes from Patsy's assortment of herbs and herb recipes, along with their own creations.
