Ludlow Garden Club news and plans

Vermont Green-Up Day was Saturday, May 6th. 3 members of the Ludlow Garden club were out on the by-ways of Ludlow helping with the clean-up. Our kudos to Dianne Krupp, Kay O'Hare and Barbara Whittaker.

During the business meeting on May 11th, it was decided to move the Plant Sale to Saturday, June 10th. Kay O'Hare volunteered to chair the event, and several of the members have agreed to assist in the planning. The Sale will be held in the Mini Park, probably starting the set-up about 8am. Members should start potting their 6 plants now for the sale; and they must all be labeled. And don't forget to wear your wonderful new Garden Club Aprons.
Kay's number is 228-2983, and she'd appreciate knowing who is available to help with the sale.

We also have 2 new members, who joined at the May 11 meeting. They are Marilyn Dunwoody and Lynn Reilly, both of Ludlow. Welcome!

The June Luncheon (on the 8th) will be at the Wilder House Restaurant in Plymouth Notch, on the grounds of the Calvin Coolidge Museum. After lunch and a stroll around the gardens, we will visit Midge Tucker's Nursery, the Plymouth Rock Perennial Gardens on Route 100N. More details will be available from the Grapevine committee.

A Trip to Anjali Farms

On May 11th, despite less than perfect weather, a large group from the Garden Club traveled to South Londonderrry to visit Anjali Farms. The owner, Emmett Dunbar, graciously let the group lunch in his barn; and then gave an interesting and informative talk on his organic gardening methods. With a break in the weather, the members were able to stroll about his gardens and view his plants and flowers. He plans to open the nursery this week.

Thanks to Barb Whittaker for the pictures.
