A New Garden Club Season

Here's some pictures from the Keene, NH Flower Show - taken on March 25th. A great introduction to the upcoming Garden Club season, and a way to reassure us that Spring really will come (even tho' it's snowing today!).

The new season for the Ludlow Garden Club starts on April 13th, with the opening luncheon and business meeting. This will be an ideal time to catch up on everyone's winter, and all their activities; and to discuss plans for 2006.

Patsy Kuntz, our VP and Program Chairman, and her Committee, have put together some interesting field trips and programs for the 2006 meetings.

May 11 - Anjali Farms and Lotus Moon Medicinals - an organic farm in South Londonderry. We can have lunch in Emmett Dunbar's large barn, and he will discuss his organic methods - along with plants for purchase.

June 8 - Luncheon at the Wilder House Restaurant in Plymouth Notch. After lunch and a stroll around the gardens, we will visit Midge Tucker's Plymouth Rock Perennial Gardens. Midge is a member of the Garden Club.

June - the Plant Sale - give some thought to a date, sale items, volunteers, a Chairman and Committee, etc. A great chance to wear our new green Garden Club Aprons!

July 13 - We will visit Cider Hill Gardens, in Windsor, come rain or shine!!!

August 10 - open date, to be discussed at the April meetiing. How about another Herb Luncheon?

September 14 - A visit to the Gardens of Patti Hunt in Weston. Patti grows many lovely grasses, and will discuss how she uses them in her landscaping business.

October 12 - open date, with options to be discussed in April.

November 9 - A lecture from Leonard Perry who is an Extension Professor at the Dept. of Plant and Soil Science at UVM. He will discuss new and underutilized perennials in a slide presentation.

December 14 - our annual Christmas Luncheon.

Looks like a great schedule of programs - thanks to Patsy and the Committee.

See you all April 13th. Here's hoping for lots of sun, warm weather, and daffodils in bloom!
